NYC is so great for Americans because when you see picture sets in urban areas of most US cities(downtown) you see the same type of people: Business men and hipsters(more or less).

In NYC you see business people, American tourist, hipsters, foreigners(tourist), and just about every ethnic and "type" of person on earth. What a city!

Amazing pictures.

The advert expressions are a perfect fit:

OK + NY = A1

Thanks for the excellent set.

Amazing set! My only issue though, is with the size of the pictures. Would it be possible next time to make them a little smaller? Scrolling horizontally every time to see the whole of the picture breaks up the thread-viewing experience just a little too much for me.

mm, one conceives that's a little annoying here. Don't forget your browser should allow some full screen mode that might occasionally help. If you were using a laptop, then you have no right to complain, right? Cause it's uncomfortable anyway.

I also meant to say, I really enjoy your use of winter light in many of these photographs.

Now THIS is New York. Great photos!!! I am far too bashful to take people photos like you do. I look forward to future NYC threads from you.

I really don't think anyone would mind seeing these photos here

hmm, hard to find a compromise. The shots really aren't as expressive when sized at the typical 1000x667. The forum dynamically resizes on mobile and tablets and a desktop monitor should have enough space to display 1500x1000. Sounds like laptops might have an issue. You can try zooming out in the browser, ctrl & - in chrome. Not sure about safari.

sbarn - I think it's only human to feel a little uncomfortable when you invade the space of a stranger. With enough practice the feeling starts to fade. Of all these photos, not one person got mad or confronted me. Worst reaction I've had is "Don't take my photo". You'd be surprised how many people don't care.

R@ptor - I'll try to post some of the threads that have a bit of an urban setting. Maybe I'll post the others in the general photography thread.

Xander202 - Somehow I got sunburned shooting in that winter sun

Thanks all!

Particularly in Manhattan, the vast majority of people aren't going to care because their mind is set on getting to where they're going. In the boroughs it can be different but even then, New Yorkers are used to thinking of themselves as interesting to outsiders; being weirded out by a camera is (for the most part) small town business unless you're taking pictures of d-boys lol.

^ My personal feeling about that is only scared/worried/sick people are disturbed by cameras. Only the hypocritical pop stars/VIPs/politicians force themselves damn ridiculously hard into smiling to them (while they are obviously basically deeply annoyed), and the truly luckier happy/confident people simply don't give a crap and take it all easy. That's it all. It's yet not complicated. Let photographers work at peace, the way they really enjoy it.

^ What? Mah hey, what do you think? I'm a random one of them. There are tons of people in France to think this way. Do not focus on wrong cases.
