North Loop/Warehouse District, Minneapolis

This is a downtown neighborhood in the west and northwest corners of Downtown. Despite the number of parking lots there has been infill on the northern stretch where it's a complete wall of buildings while what's left still offers a decent amount to see and do. Most of these are on or just off of Washington, the main street here.

Hmmmm....looks like there is plenty to see & do. Three ugly girls, indeed.

Seriously, there seems to be a lot of cool buildings, old & new. And some nice businesses (besides the not so nice ones )

Nice! That neighborhood is still trying to get itself together...it's kind of fragmented. It will eventually. Considering that 15 years ago it was mostly empty rail yards and Industrial(mostly empty industrial), it looks pretty amazing I guess.

I was there about 10 years ago for a Cycling event. My friends still live there. They sell organic grains and brewing supplies and VW Vanagon parts.

That area, along with an area to its East/SE called the "Mills District", are two areas I am really excited to see how they develop over the next 10-20 years. They could be more than just "new urban" urban neighborhoods, they could be neighborhoods......like with kids and old people and whatnot.

Thanks for posting this stuff. There is a wealth of beautiful industrial architecture in that district for sure. Great variety and quality, wow!

Very cool this is my favorite

And there's a touch of moorish architecture in some of those red brick warehouses with the unusual arches.
