Caption: January 11, 1949. This is a scene in La Crescenta where several inches of snow were recorded. Pat Bradley brought out her skis to enjoy this rare experience in the Southland.
In deference to the Lomara's Downey citrus producer: January 5, 1949. "W. Terzenbach of 6226 Beck Ave., North Hollywood, inspects his ice covered lemon and orange trees. Ice formed on trees from spray Terzenbach left on over night to protect them from frost."
The Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, "where the sunshine spends the winter," is covered with snow on January 11, 1949.
