Sell it to the other cities - it'll work. And Pripyat will be back. I just have to wait for the radiation to fade.

So, that's Pripyat...

Signal Hill (the new city) is going very well!

I'm going to have my best public buildings facing the channel with the skyscrapers around them.

And the rest (to your left) will eventually be all blocks and blocks of brownstones with commercial buildings mixed in.

Just to clarify for others: Not mine. It's outside my city

Servers are down again and if the last two days are any indication I won't be able to get back on until 10pm (1:30am Newfoundland).

hey signal can you send me another invite to the new region, I accidentally closed the other one off of my invite list.

In other news, a wave of crime/arson in Martyville (thanks to Nuevo Destino) destroyed Martyville. I had to pour all my money in to building police and fire stations, hence my budget is shot. Sigh.

It looks nice! I'd move there

Martyville has a homicide problem, and it only has a population of 1100 people. There are continual protests at city hall for better police coverage but I can't afford it. Never ending cycle of awful

So, my plan flew out the window. I couldn't afford to keep it as brownstones. But it's still going VERY well! Woot woot!

I've got the hang of it this time. Goodbye Pripyat, hello Signal Hill!

You sure wouldn't know that Sloanburg and Signal Hill are about the same size. I have ONE highrise and it was from way back. Having trouble getting dense this time, but it's slowly coming. I think I'll have a huge population boom sometime soon.

I love the fact that Signal's city has a population of 75,000 and has that many highrises. I would love to live in a city that dense!!

I really want this game now! If Signal, who has never played the game before, can figure it out in a day, I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out eventually haha! I`ll let you guys know if I get it. (Again, waiting to get a better laptop)

It's very easy to build a city quickly. Very quick learning curve to getting a city with some tall buildings, figuring out how to zone, how to build roads, etc.

What I'm finding incredibly difficult with Cope Landing (currently around 80,000 people) is getting over the low-middle income hump. I realize now that while my city evolved very quickly, there was a lot I missed. Now I'm playing catch-up, which is very difficult since I have the demands of 80,000 people but the infrastructure for about half that.

What's even more complex, and I am only JUST starting to explore, is how to build a REGION. It's one thing to build a self-sustaining city, but it seems that to create really impressive cities with huge population, you need a lot of synchronization between the cities in the region. Tonight I started a private 5-person region, with the entire goal of inter-connectivity. I began building a very industrialized mining city, focused on Coal and Ore. This city will be primarily used to power the region and provide low-income jobs. I will have four more specialized cities, and my ultimate goal is to have all five cities lean on one another for whatever is needed.

It's really a neat game. I don't even begin to think that I really know what I'm doing, but its definitely fun to experiment and learn more!

What a steep learning curve in this game. I literally suck. And with that....

Welcome to Martyville
The crime capital of SSP

For a town of near 2500 people, Martyville has attracted more than just young professionals trying to start their new lives. The quiet, small-town life has drawn numerous seasoned criminals into this once sleepy town.

Martyville has an unmatched view of the Cope Landing skyline; a glimpse in to a better life.

Northeast Martyville is a mix of industrial factories and low-income residential, with some denser apartment complexes along the main roadway. This area is by far the crime hotbed of the town. Many residents are quoted as saying "we have to get out of this continual death", and for good reason: the neighborhood averages about 3 homicides a day.

Residents have been protesting on the lawn of town hall 24/7 for over a month now, asking for an end to the violence

Further south, residents can find a little more peace in a neighborhood with a much lower crime rate. Most of these neighborhoods are home to the Martyville middle-class.

However, this neighborhood is home to many of the criminal masterminds which have wrecked havoc on Northeast Martyville. This nameless individual was apparently walking home from committing a robbery.

By far, the towns biggest problem is arson. On average, 7-8 homes are burnt to the ground every night. Arsonists have also targeted larger factories, leaving residents jobless and causing the economy to slump. Funding is limited to the fire department, and hence there aren't enough fire engines to battle all the blazes in the town. Lucky for these homeowners, the fire department was able to save their home.

However, the rest of Northeast Martyville burns.

Further South, a new mixed commercial/residential strip gives new hope to a quieter neighborhood, where people can live comfortably without the perils of crime (hopefully)

All the while, another day, another rash of arsons.
