Thumbs down

I'm surpised no one has commented on the vertical stripes to the two sides without the bracing. Aweful - they certainly ruined this building's aesthetics. As they did 2 World Trade Center...

^Those have been there since the previous design, (albeit a little thinner previously). But they're definitely a good choice imo, the building lost enough detail by losing the cross bracing.

Nice pics. I love the reflecting ones. The one of 3WTC reflecting off 1WTC is phenomenal. The gray sky also helps (personal taste.)

3 WTC from afar. Also, on the left, 45 East 22nd Street can be seen. Kinda a tad bit blurry, but if you look close, 111 Murray is starting to make a skyline presence.

In the years coming, 99 Hudson over in JC will fill in that void by 30 Hudson Street aka Goldman Sachs. (Not to be confused with 30 Hudson Yards).

people bitch about the cross-bracing gone . .
that missing bit was merely transformed . .
into the zig-zag suspenders . .
the only very cool part of the building,
besides its height . .

pinstripes on the north & south faces . .
they do so little, they hardly matter. . .
its the distinctive fierce 4-spiked crown . .
that would've been viewed from every direction . .
that I sorely miss . .

Nevertheless . . whenever I see 3 WTC . .
I will always see Rogers's sharp 4-corner finials . .
rising as dignified phantoms into the sky . .
knowing that miserly Silverstein bastardized
the monumentality of America's 911 recovery . .
I will be elevated by the memory . .
of their visionary excellence in my imagination . .

Cold February Day Shot.

Jersey City really is a great addition to NYC. Gives Lower Manhattan that extra bang.
