There are too many subforums and threads in the London forum. It becomes pointless to post as your readership is essentially 1-3 people. I strongly believe that we should condense the London Forum to maybe 3 subforums:
1) Construction and development issues
2) Living in London (life, politics, sports, UWO, etc.)
3) London Coffeetalk (everything else)

I agree - the forum is basically a discussion between four of us with occasional posts from others. I like having the separate London forum but it seems very spread thin.

I know it isn't exactly on-topic, but if you've got 15 mins to kill, crank it up to 1080p and watch an endless skyline whiz past an endless highway.

Interesting that it's only 2 lanes each direction for the majority of its length. Obviously they're not as car-reliant over there as here. Imagine the QEW being 2 lanes each direction, or the 401 at the interchange of the 400!

Thanks for the vid. I travelled many of these stretches during my Tokyo trip last september. There are many underground segments that compliment the above and at-grade segments. The cost is quite high (all are toll roads). The most surprising thing is that traffic actually flows.

I got really excited looking at Wednesday's Free Press, because it had a small picture of a group of urban condo's on the front page.

However my hopes were quite bitterly dashed when I learned that the picture and article were about the Barrel Yards development in Waterloo! Why was there a picture and article about a neighbouring cities condo-hotel development in the London Free Press? Because the developer, Auborn is based in London.

Needless to say, I was still confused as to why the Free Press decided to put it on their front page.

Haha, that picture had me going for a second too. The article was titled something like "London to the core" on LFP's website. I was almost certain it was an article on the South Street Hospital lands in SoHo.

Damn Waterpoo.

To make you guys feel (slightly) better, Auburn is the developer behind two downtown projects in K-W that have been ON HOLD for almost 5 years. Yes, FIVE. They have lost all credibility as a developer here.

That Barrel Yards development won't see reality for at least 25 years I promise you. They started work on the hotel, but that too has been idle for over a month.
