Nice find Visualize.

I think it is a given that this project will spur more development on some of the lots across the street on Myrtle, hopefully the lot with the trees, and along Front on the other side. If only we could hear some good news about the convention center site.

So I was talking to my mate who works for Layton construction. (He is a project manager. He was the PM for the control tower, and I got an opportunity to stand on the very top of it, talk about a view!) and he stated that Layton was currently biding on the concrete for the JUMP project.

I put two and two together and realized that is most likely why they haven't started constructing yet if they haven't yet decided who will even do the concrete. I hope they get the bid so I can have some tasty insights.

Just though I'd share.

Thanks for the update, BMW!

I was looking through the webcams and was wondering why it seems all the crews and machinery had left. Hopefully we'll find out soon who gets the bid and we can get some construction progress going.

Yeah, definitely don't want a new Boise Hole. Or rather, "Boise Big Flat Open Area."

There are several posts regarding the purpose of JUMP, which may include a new corporate headquarters in the future. Simplot Co is one of the largest privately owned companies in the world and currently is headquarterd on Main Street near the site for JUMP. The project is basically a place for artists/creative types, with a new city park smack dab downtown, and a large building and parking garage.

http://arbiteronline.com/2012/04/23/...owntown-boise/

This urban park and learning center will consist of studios purposed for community use. The five studios will be Kitchen, Movement, Maker’s, Multi-Media and Inspiration. Each studio will serve a different purpose and will be open for community members to utilize in an effort to inspire creativity.

“In addition to the five studios, the top floor is more of a meeting space and an area where we can generate addition income to support the other efforts throughout the project,” said Kathy O’Neill, community programs coordinator.

Additionally, JUMP will feature a 3.5-acre urban park and outdoor amphitheater. A path will extend the Boise River Greenbelt, enabling direct pedestrian access to JUMP.

does anyone know if they've found a company that'll do the concrete for them yet? From what it looks like is that it's still a small hole in the ground.

I just texted my mate who works for Layton to see if they got the bid or if he knows any good info. I really hope they get the bid and he could take me out to the site and see the good stuff.

I saw machinery on site today at lunch, although they were doing some very un-Boise like things like chopping down trees Good to see progress continuing, bring on JUMP.

I'm in! It's also not right that they are planning on removing so much dirt from its natural habitat in order to make room for the parking garage. That dirt has been there longer than any of us have!

As of this morning there was a lot more heavy machinery on site. This is going to be interesting to watch because of the size of the project and the amount of construction workers they say will be swarming around.

Indeed, looks like work has resumed.

Here's a side by side comparison between 3:00pm May 16th and 3:00pm May 18th (just now).

Looks like those trees at the former 10th & Borah intersection are no more. Ah, fond memories of biking under those to access the Pioneer path....

Man, I really wish they'd do that along the Boise River. Get rid of those ugly trees that block my view of the foothills... at least paint them brown so they blend in.
