Guangwu - ruins of the Greatwall -3

Yangbian Greatwall

http://www.beijing-travels.com/great...l_leaders.html

They were the all-powerful leaders or presidents of countries, they were willing to challenge the Chinese old word "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man". During a trade mission in Beijing China, many leaders visited the Great Wall en masse and gave highly praise and respect, Obama, Cameron, Clinton, Bush, Yeltsin, Nixon, Reagan, Rabin...

Laolongtou ( Old Dragon Head)

Four kilometers south of Shanhaiguan, Laolongtou is the easternmost end of the Great Wall, which stretches 23 meters into the sea like a dragon drinking water, hence its name.

Laolongtou ( Old Dragon Head)

During the Opium War (1840), British and French’s warships were active in the Laolongtou area. The Qing government assembled large forces in Laolongtou for provide defense from attack from the sea, but their efforts proved to be in vain because later in 1900 the Eight-Nation Alliance invaded and destroyed all important defensive buildings and Shenghailou, the most beautiful pavilion of Laolongtou. They drove out the locals and stationed their army in Laolongtou area. It wasn’t until World War Two that they left this area.

Toured the Wall at Mutianyu. When I was much younger, one dream of mine was to see the Great Wall. I wanted to walk... experience it before I punched my ticket. Now that I've been to the Wall, I want to see it again. More importantly, I will go to China again.

For those of you who have not been to Zhongguo, well... you should go. It is an amazing nation. I have never been treated better (I've lived in Europe, traveled to the Middle East). Simply eye opening.

Apologize for high-jacking the thread. Have you ever done something you thought would be great and it turned out to be exponentially better than that? That's China.

Jiaoshan Great Wall
http://www.lvwo.com/bbs/viewthread.p...extra=page%3D1

is located about 3 km (1.9 miles) from Shanhaiguan ancient city. It is named after Jiaoshan Mountain, which is the highest peak to the north of Shanhaiguan Pass and also the first mountain the Great Wall climbs up after Shanhaiguan Pass. Therefore the mountain is noted as "The first mountain of the Great Wall".

Panlongshan Great Wall
http://www.greatwallforum.com/forum/...ll-review.html

Panlongshan is a great place to hike the Great Wall. The climbing is challenging in places but the level of danger is reasonable for the Great Wall. The architecture is interesting, the defense security features are unique, and scenery is excellent.

Panlongshan located Gubeikou town in northeastern Beijing.
