green and grey do indeed mix, but I've got an idea for an even sexier-looking grid balcony tower

Can a tweet inspire a nimbytect?

Someone I follow tweeted about finding a Canadian graphic design book in the bargain bin for $5: Design with type by Carl Dair

Like Dair, I am a self taught designer. The cover graphic really stood out and made me think about a building facade designed like it. I present my first nimbytect sketch "Type Condos" inspired by graphic design:

It could soar as high as I could dare

It's a simple concrete grid design that may include balconies someday

It would look fantastic as an office tower in the South Core district

If I were a developer with loads of money, then I would build a 30,000 seat stadium on the Halifax peninsula for the CFL.

I drew a conceptual stadium with the Sketchup program several years ago and posted an animation on Youtube, which I inserted below.

With the new stadiums that have gone up in Winnipeg, Regina and Hamilton, it looks rather Mickey Mouse, but I enjoyed creating it in Sketchup.

I'm feeling kind of down ATM which is why I decided to just add some balconies to oy grey:

Whilst in the studio nimbytect I was thinking that M City tower 1's nickname should be "the skirt" because it looks like Marilyn Monroe's famous skirt photo.

re: your stadium proposal. I am no sports fan but my favourite stadium is Herzog & de Meuron's proposed Chelsea Stadium:

Proving that even in sports, brick can't be beat!

Hmm so now I'm trying to decide if there should be twins: one precast concrete one black metal at Bathurst and Lake Shore?

There's talk on UrbanToronto about the future of the Greyhound bus terminal at Bay and Dundas. Here's a quick massing model to show what I think is possible with the land:

1) 50s condo tower setback from Bay Street with a restored Greyhound building as the podium
2) 70s condo tower South East corner Edward and Elizabeth Street where the east bus bay is now
3) 80+ storey mixed use building North East corner Dundas St W & Chestnut where the Masjid Mosque/Subway/Starbucks is today. Possible office tower here.
4) 50 storey condo/hotel building South East corner Chestnut and Edward St.

Do you have access to $2 billion?

Bay Dundas Centre tower 1: a 50 storey condo tower located just west of the restored Toronto Coach Terminal, currently the bus bays
