And this is a big part of why Canadian teams suck in recent years. Terrible management. Edmonton got fleeced for Taylor Hall. Montreal got fleeced for Subban. Vancouver gives up a #1 goalie for a #2C at best. Ottawa got fleeced for Spezza and Heatley and Bishop. I can't remember the last time a Canadian team made a fair trade lol.

Edmonton got a defensive defenseman, which they really needed, however they gave up too much.

Clearly Montreal fans have no idea how good Shea Weber is. Best and toughest D-man in the NHL. I think the only defenseman that can give him a run for his money is Drew Doughty. Montreal fans should be excited. They definitely won that trade.

I think the Oilers overpaid to get Larsson, but defensemen (especially with a right-hand shot) are incredibly hard to get, and is something the Oilers have desperately needed for years.

Some rumours are going around that Stamkos signed a contract to get more favourable terms to be traded (UFA can only sign for 7 years and he just signed for 8)...

I think Nashville's GM just wanted to get out of Weber's longer contract.

Subban is *just* a notch below Weber.

The next good old Ontario boy is coming up as a UFA in 2 years. John Tavares will sign with the Leafs for a song!

I see a lot of humour in the Leafs and that is coming from an Oiler fan.

He'll definitely want to sign! There's no way he could say no!

Aww fuck. Bad trade for Edmonton and everyone knows it. Just cant believe it. Listening the the Oilers news conference was sickening. By the way this was handled it would suggest MacT was still calling the shots

Montreal got Ripped off also. So I guess its not a terrible day!

Both teams may win here, that's my take.

Not sure what Bergevin is thinking here.

Really?? And Weber is a strong leader and a consistent producer.
