No sea otters?

For as cheesy as Cannery Row has gotten, the scenery of Monterey more than makes up for it.

No not this time (lol)

No doubt Cannery Row is cheesy but my wife wanted to visit the area.
Although I love the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. I wanted to stay there but we ended up in Carmel, overall the better location. Yet the views from this hotel more than make up for rest of that block.

Gorgeous! It is about time you posted those pictures. I have only driven though these towns on the way to San Francisco. After seeing your pictures I realize I will have to actually spend some time there, someday. Oh, and your wife is beautiful!

Very beautiful photos! I love Monterey; and I really love Pacific Grove; it is really beautiful too. Some of your pics look like they might've been from there. Did you and your wife go into Pacific Grove at all?

As nice as Carmel is, for some reason it's not my cup of tea, though I think the Mission there is beautiful. I think I found the people to be too pretentious and snooty. Carmel is indeed beautiful, though.

Thanks for the pictures, ChrisLA!

We liked very much this area in our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Specially, we liked Santa Cruz, Monterey and Pacific Groove. Houses in Pacific Groove are stunning. Monterey is a very nice historic town. We hadn´t much time to stop there, but we enjoyed visiting the downtown of Monterey. We liked Pacific Groove lighthouse too, one of the most ancient lighthouses in the USA.

That coast is really beautiful.

Thanks again. Greetings from Madrid, Spain!

The place looks too perfect to be real.

I'm planning a roadtrip up the coast in the near future. I've never been up there, but how is Monterrey cheesy? I don't see it in the pictures. Touristy? Maybe. But wouldn't cheesy be Applebee's, Gap and Outback Steakhouses?
