The Port Mann Bridge replacement looks every bit as great as the Mary Hill subdevelopment in PoCo looks like shit.

Pretty funny!

Although I do recall seeing it on paper in songbooks many times, I've never actually heard it sung in French.

Le RRQ, le Réseau de Résistance du Québécois

They have a real soft-spot for the Royal family.

Hello, nothing special but here is some info on the new Donald Bridge over the Columbia River west of Golden. Part of the upgrading of the #1 through BC.

It is currently u/c.

So today was a nice afternoon in Vancouver to go for a walk over the Canada Line Bridge and snap some photos (The C-Line bridge has a nice pedestrian / bike walkway built under the tracks).

Here is the Vancouver side approach, heading south

A look of the bridge from the south end (looking towards Vancouver). The good thing about skytrain is there are trains passing by every 3 minutes, so one does not have to wait long to snap a pic of some train action

Again looking north. One thing that Vancouver's mass transit system has is the most impressive metro bridges in Canada.

The pedestrian walkway itself mid span with the southbound rail bed hanging above.

And here is where the Canada Line dips below the Oak Street Bridge in Richmond (highway 99). Crazy jumbled areas like this have made metro-vancouver feel larger IMO.

And here is the Oak Street Bridge entering Vancouver (the end of the freeway portion of highway 99) You can also see the fall colours now nearing full bloom.

All pics are my own, cheers!

Here's some really good pictures of the new (and old) Port Mann Bridge from a local Vancouver blogger:

Why stop there at just the bridge? Does BC have any plans for elevated bridge viaducts for their portion of HWY 1. I always hear them making excuses for the lack of lanes because some parts of the mountains only have narrow passage ways, yet a simple elevated bridge viaduct would solve all those problems.

and looking through the towers to downtown.

All pics are my own: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30634635@N03/
