Totally agree - not too inspired. The strip center has Nibbana Thai Restaurant in it. I'm hoping the 600'ers being proposed by Onni are a bit more adventurous looking (wouldn't take much!)

This would put Bellevue at (5) planned 600' towers with another three or so in the rumor mill. The new LINK station will be getting quite the workout moving people to/from Seattle with that influx of new workers and residents in DT Bellevue.

I think if these move forward also, it would make Washington only the 8th state to have at least two cities with buildings over 600 feet. The others being California, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Make it seven...those dark red buildings to the right in the image have been clarified to two at 600' and one at 500'.

Update on the proposal that used to be called "Elev8"

It is now called Cloudvue 10855 NE 8th St

https://permitsearch.mybuildingpermi...%20LP/Bellevue

"We are proposing a three-tower development over a continuous below grade garage with depressed mid-block that will provide garage and loading dock access. The develop is intended to be mixed use. Two towers will be office only and one tower is residential with a potential hotel at the base. The podium of all three towers will contain retail elements. Tower 1 (west) and Tower 2 (south) will both extend to 600 feet. The eastern tower will extend to the tallest height that our remaining FAR will allow which is approximately 500 feet. In total, the project is planned for approximately 1.5M sf of office, 440 residential units and 285 hotel rooms.
"

Crews lay down track atop I-90 floating bridge

By BENJAMIN MINNICK
Journal Construction Editor

Crews have installed one of the eight specialized track sections that will allow light rail trains to cross the Interstate 90 floating bridge.

The 43-foot-long sections — called track bridges — will carry rail from the fixed ends of the Homer M. Hadley bridge to its floating part. They were designed to move with the bridge, which can flex in six different directions.

“This has not been done anywhere else in the world,” said John Sleavin, deputy project director in charge of final design at Sound Transit, during a Tuesday media tour of the bridge.

Laying track on a floating bridge has additional challenges other than the transitions, such as movement of the rail on the floating section, the weight of the system and isolating electrical current that runs in the rails.

Special isolators are used on the track bridges to keep electrical current from reaching the main bridge.

Nearly 9,000 light-weight concrete blocks support the track across the main bridge.

Project is currently called "Avenue" or "Avenue Bellevue". An Intercontinental Hotel is said to be anchoring and report of recent fences on site.

Compared to the monstrosity that is the garage above Capitol Hill Station, this is leagues ahead of what Seattle is thinking of.
