The city signed a purchase agreement - the first step in many - to begin the development by SSP Associates for 100,000-square feet of building space at the Uptown site that will include a mix of residential, retail and restaurant space. SSP, which is led by local Dr. Samuel Shaheen, is no stranger to development having renovated the Temple Theatre in Saginaw and construction a $20 million, three-building project that housing the Michigan CardioVascular Institute in Saginaw.
