Maybe try the city archives or a used bookstore.

Here's a couple interesting links (but not what you are looking for):

Interesting sidebar:

Looking at the Skytrain stations along the various alignments and the density being created around same, the old inter-urban from Vancouver to the Fraser Valley also apparently had density nodes along its stations in Surrey and Langley:

Scott Station
Kennedy Station
Craig's Station
Hunter Station
Kings Station
Newton Station
Hyland Station
Sullivan Station
McLellan Station
Meridian Station
Halls Prairie Station
Anderson Station
Hunter Station
Norris Station
Jardine Station
Harrisworth Station

The more things change... the more they remain the same.

now though its all built up where he used to go camping in the wilderness

Wow, and I always thought the Westwood Plateau was part of an auto racing circuit that closed in the late 80's/early 90's.

at sfu, there's a large aerial photo of greater vancouver on the wall in the geography department. its from the 50s or 60s i think, and it has westwood plateau as a wildlife preserve and the newer parts of coquitlam around barnet/lougheed appear to be just trailer parks.

that it was. my parents lived at the bottom of the mountain (eagle ridge area) and said they could hear races going on up the hill in the evenings.

(1986 - www.globalairphotos.com)

the old track, now where the golf course is and just 2 minutes from my house. that's burnaby mountain to the far back right for perspective.

and then in 1992 as the plateau was being developed:

(1992 - www.globalairphotos.com)

the former track is in the middle back of the photo and lafarge lake and coquitlam town centre are in the foreground.

I remember driving around the Westwood track in the early 80s with my dad in his 1978 Honda Civic, on days when the track was open to the public.

Nowadays, there's a street in Westwood Plateau called Deer's Leap Place that's named after a section of the old track by the same name, where Deer would often leap onto the track:
