The company I work for was approached last week about providing financing for Portland Two. We are in the process of evaluating the townhome project now. The five completed townhomes have all sold and are occupied. This occured in 2010. There are currently four units under construction and plans for an additional 16. I Like the layout and the location, and as VLJ mentioned, they are colorful.

I don't have renderings available but the office building will apparently be 8 stories and 105' tall. The footprint is in the zoning docs at

Yeah, talk about under the radar. I live one block away and didn't notice the construction.

And if any of you remember CamelSquare on the NWC of 44th St and Camelback, its latest incarnation is a 900,000 square foot office building in 4 stories.

I'm having difficulty extracting the images but they're all towards the end of http://emvis.net/~sean/ssp/projects/...-84_110911.pdf

This really looks like a terrific project. Its great to see the possibility of some new residential outside of the 7's. Building up neighborhoods like Eastlake (and Garfield and the Capitol Mall) is key for Downtown to ever become great.

My question is, are they planning on knocking down any of that strip center? The PDF seems to say that they're not going to, but I can't imagine how the complex would fit in there without knocking at least a portion of that retail center over. No that strip centers are really worth saving, but as they go that one is pretty nice and always busy, especially that hispanic bridal shop.

E: Ah I see now, it looks like they'd be knocking down the Eastern section of that strip center, but leaving the western building.

That will be a great addition to the outskirts of downtown. Isn't the 12th St. light rail station one of the least used stations? Hopefully this will bring more traffic.

So the Business Journal had it wrong:

The article read that Lafferty's Union Square project on 12th St and Jefferson:

was downsized to The Blue.

But instead, they're separate projects.

^ That location has been the bane of several failed restaurants. Here's to hoping your friend can break that curse...
