Will be interested in seeing the sales center for Gold House.. it must be coming soon as I just saw a Skytrain ad for it on the outside of the train.

I was just going to say.

The marketing people for this thing are geniuses (or maybe not so much).

No big wonder why the whole thing is essentially sold out (or completely "reserved") before they've even completed final readings with the City of Burnaby.

Who woulda thunk that a building with such an emphasis on the "Gold" metaphor would be a big seller in the target demographic they're not doubt aiming for.

I saw some Skytrain cars I thought were extra dirty but were in fact wrapped in an advertisement for this development... pretty classy.

Does anyone know when this final reading will take place? Wondering when the sales centre will be open to public.

Looking at the renders, I feel that this is a well designed building, pleasing aesthetically on a structural level, yet somehos is "gaudy," playing overtly to a given market sector.
Am I incorrect, either factually or Politically, in saying this? And does anyone have a remark to counter or agree with this statement. I'd like to know SSPers' take on this. Thanks

Every tower in Burnaby/Richmond is marketed for Chinese and bought mostly by Chinese. If you walk into a sales room as a non-Chinese person they look at you like you must be lost. This is the reality of the city now.

Thank you for explicit response. Yes in fact I figured it would be that way. Do Canadians and other froups also buy condominiums? (Well of course, but where, what%, and $$ range)

It shouldn't be offensive to talk about this stuff. Might be off topic here though if we take it much farther.

Everyone buys condos now because very few can afford houses. Europeans on the north shore/downtown/Kits, Persians in central Lonsdale/West Van, Koreans in Coquitlam, Indians in Surrey, etc. Generalities of course. Some cultures see tall towers as worse than houses, others see it as better/equal.

This I find is very true.. for me as a mid-late 20s white male (but am often mistaken for much younger) even when I am with my Asian friend.

Unless it is a building by Bosa...

Conflating everyone that 'looks Chinese' together is not okay.
Every condo in a building could be bought by Chinese-Canadians or permanent residents, and that's not the same at all as 'rich Chinese from overseas'. Too much anti-Chinese sentiment.

Ideally most of this should be in the other thread, but I am concerned enough to speak about the topic, whether we are talking about Gold House or not.

While I don't have any concrete numbers to back it up, I don't believe the $700 is an accurate average. Industry insiders say around $670 but the true number is likely much lower than that with all of these buyer and realtor incentives they threw in.

Wait, Gold House is going to be more than one building? Did the Sales center ever go up? I read sales last week were in some complex building on Kingsway

Thanks that's a better rendering to help visualize it! I thought it was two towers but then it sounded like it became one tower.
