We could just ask

I doubt I'll have the time, but someone should just walk up with a box of donuts from Tim Hortons and ask the dudes working what they're up to!

This was posted to LinkedIn yesterday:

Icon’s Infinity Tower test pile program on schedule. Irving Equipment has driven (5) HP12 x 89 30’ on the first day. The diesel hammer has been mobilized to take us to bedrock refusal depth.

Exciting times on the Petitcodiac waterfront!

The next question is how did the test piling go? There excitement seems like it’s clearly gone well.

Reposted from the downtown thread. A nice picture of the pilings at the Infinity site.

The pilings they pounded into the ground are still there (and quite level if I do say so myself). The jobsite however is vacant again.

There is an excavator on site this morning digging. Let's hope it's for the base of the tower crane!

I drove by yesterday afternoon and the excavator was parked. I doubt they are digging for the tower crane, but I am not sure what they are up to.

They only placed the excavator there so that we would talk about it here, therefore bumping this thread up! It's the game multi-millionaires do for fun!

It does seem unusual that an excavator would be on site for a day or so, then it's gone.

Welcome to the forums!

No new news on the construction front, but this really isn’t worrisome. The piling were driven to assess bedrock depth and stability. This information will be used to determine building height, but, all indications seem to be that the developer intends on a 30 storey building.

I hope for excavators on site by this summer.

Thanks for the warm welcome ! I was just curious on why the site remained empty and calm for a month, so yeah hopefully we’ll see excavators on site soon ! I just can’t wait for this major change in Moncton’s skyline !

Post-Scriptum I sent you a PM with some additional questions, please check it out if you have the time to do so

With these major construction projects, there's a lot going on behind the scenes that the public doesn't see. Even though we don't see anything happening on the sites, the developers are working & planning, getting ready for construction.

Like you, I'm excited to see the upcoming additions to the Moncton skyline.

In particular:

- Infinity
- Three Sisters
- Two Brothers
- St. Bernard's Place

And who knows what else is in the planning stages that we haven't even heard about yet!

This project came up last night at Moncton council.
They approved handing a portion of land along Main Street to the company to allow its patio to be closer to the street. No new images or timelines offered.

Yeah and the best part is that all of that will be completed within 5-10 years. We get to see our little city transform completely.

Unhappy When is it gonna start ???????

[IMG] [/IMG]

*couldn’t figure out how to put an image but I tried - picture of the site as of yesterday*

I know I’m impatient… but I just can’t wait till construction starts
Ahhhh the day where that vacant lot littered with trash becomes a busy construction site with a crane and excavators
