I also noticed surveyors working in the empty lot at the northwest corner of Horton and Wellington.

Anyone know of any plans for that lot?

I actually used to frequent the old Goodwill there so I'm really happy to see this project underway. I biked past the site on my way to a friend's in Old South and the progress is pretty remarkable. I'll try to get a few pictures when I'm in the area tomorrow afternoon.

Here are two pictures taken from Horton. The building is enormous.

Well the place is now officially open, so I went inside and took some photos for you guys!

Here are some shots of the outside, click on a thumbnail for a larger photo.

And here is the front foyer off of Horton St. Again, you can click on the photos for bigger versions.

The actual store on the first floor:

The view of the foyer from the second floor:

And finally the third floor, which will be office space, I'm sure. (The second floor is a job search centre). Note the balcony in the first photo. Gives a nice view of downtown.

So yep, that's the Goodwill Centre! Pretty amazing building they've built, and I recommend everyone to go see it first hand.

Love it. Great addition to Horton Street.

And those are street trees done right. Nice-sized planters, no power lines directly above them and even some decorative grass to help shield the soil. I'd wager these trees will end up doing quite well.

I was surprised just how small the actual store portion of the building is. So what's taking place in the upper floors?
