I'm encouraged that MLS is still verbally committed to Austin. Obviously time will tell if and when something happens, but it is a good sign in my book.

I wanted to point out that Leslie Pool took another junket to Columbus, to attend the Crew game.

Maybe she's researching the potential of running for a council spot in Columbus?

Pool is sure looking out for other cities.

Quote:
"I’m really happy for Columbus," she said. "This also provides a re-set for Austin, so we can take a second look and redirect our efforts to do this the right way: Build a team and earn a team on our own merits."

Pool said an expansion team isn't ideal because Austin would cut in front of nearby San Antonio, which has been working for years through MLS' official expansion process.

Is there enough dislike of Pool, in her district, that citizens could at lest threaten her with a recall??? Start a petition - her cohorts seem to like those.

Geez, the fool even wants more info about the airport's 2040 master plan. She obviously saw firsthand how overcrowded it is - the loon used it twice in the last three months to get to CBus!

What comments have pool made about the master plan?

She's concerned that any major expansion at ABIA might interfere with the growth of our second airport, Austin Executive Airpark, and SAT.

Wow SAT? Really??? What city is she supposed to represent. Do her constituents use SAT to the point where they are afraid of their own city's airport is going to have too many options???

She went there to comfort folks who feel their airport is falling behind AUS.

I think she's also concerned for the airports at Burnet and Horseshoe Bay. It would be a shame to take flights away from those.

When is her term up? She seriously has to go. She's a drag on this city!

Don't know and I agree 100% with you. I've never seen anything or anyone like her before. I am embarrassed about the way she treated Precourt. In celebration of today, Halloween, I did search for the scariest picture I could use for my avatar. I think I found it. If anyone finds this too vile, too disgusting, too disturbing, too hideous, or too scary, let me know and I'll change it.

2021, she's only halfway into her second tenure.

We would need nearly 5000 hand signatures from her district that voted her in with a 44-point margin last cycle.

As of late, I would be surprised if you couldn't muster 5,000 signatures.

What was the actual voter turnout in her district. A 44-pt win is big. But, if the turnout was low - there could be a ton of people who would like her out. And, they simply do not know their rights and/or how to do so.

Heck, even simply organizing a petition to recall her should scare her a bit and make some news!

So the 2016 Election had a 48.3% turnout in District 7 and had the following vote breakdown:
  1. Pool - 21,411 votes (72%)
  2. Gauldin - 8,346 votes (28%)

The active registered voter roll (more or less) is roughly 61,500 people in her district, so expect to need 6150 signatures on the petition. Though I'm sure this may be plausible, I'd imagine it would difficult to energize that many people in four months without a decent amount of funding.

I may be missing something, but "four" months? Also, each district should have close to 100,000 people in it. Ten districts and a city population of almost 1,000,000?!?
