1010 Brickell To Spend $765K In Upgrades To Metromover Station In Exchange For Easement
By TNM Staff on March 14, 2018
The developer of 1010 Brickell, the recently completed 50-story condo tower, wants an easement on station property that will allow pedestrians to access the building, with walkways and ramps connecting the development to the station. A utilities easement is also proposed.
In exchange, the developer is proposing to spend $764,780 renovating the station.
Existing planters, benches, and concrete monuments would be demolished. New landscaping, signage, handrails, and bicycle racks would be added.
Other improvements include modification and reconfiguration of the station entrance, reconfiguration of existing fence and gates, relocation of automatic passenger counters, pressure cleaning and painting of ground floor and concrete structures, restoration of elevator cab and door, installation of new LED lights and fan inside elevator, and a one-time cleaning and maintenance of escalator.
Miami-Dade commissioners have a committee meeting tomorrow where they are scheduled to vote on the deal.
