Has anyone noticed that they're topping off Mint under the 600 and some-odd feet it was supposed to get? I could be wrong but it looks as if they're starting to top it off and its still shorter than the BOA building.
Absolutely, but I think there needs to be balance. Miami's skyline looks dense but lacks flare (never though I'd say that about Miami). Atlanta's skyline isn't dense at all but has eye catching spires. Both look awkward as a result, IMO. Luckily for Miami, its problem is solved a lot easier than Atlanta's

I think greed had a lot to do with it with developers trying to get more bang for their buck with the number of condos they could sell, and therefore, we ended up with more square boxes and less interesting designs then many of us had hoped. Now that the "boom" is over with development now proceeding at a more sane pace with more powerful developers I think not looking to capitalize on the "boom", maybe we will see some of the more interstesting designs later down the road.

Is this pic, which one is the Governor House? Is it the shorter one in front of the taller ones on the left? Would love to have that view and that pool.

Grovernor House is the tallest of the 3, in the middle. That is a helluva view, well worth the cost.

Thats definitely a pimp view...is that little pool for all tenants or does it belong to one of the penthouses? I can imagine myself just lounging in that thing after a hard days work.

And with a view like that, which is only going to get better in the years to come!

Certainly largest. But it doesn't have a single building that captures my attention. It lacks a Fountain Place (Dallas), Bank of America Center (Houston) or Bank of America Plaza (Atlanta) type of building.

These have been posted before, but I think bare reposting here. These are planned for when the market rebounds, so we are not done yet down here.

^ like this shot with the Performing Arts center in the foreground. Marquis looks great in its blue glass skin and judging by the flag on the roof I guess it has topped out.

I've said this before in this forum and on others, but it bears repeating here. I've studied skyscraper history and architecture as a hobby for over 30 years, and there has never been anything like this. I'm just glad I'm living in the city where it's happening, and I do mean in the actual City of Miami.
