I don't really understand the repeated cries to paint it white. What difference would that make? It's going to be mostly lit up white at night anyway.

Your guess is as good as anyone's, although people are thinking they might wait until the 4th of July to be all patriotic and such.

Uhm it wasn't a cry it was a statement I made where anywhere in that sentence did it sound like whining? Nowhere exactly. I'm saying it would look a lot better white, it would flow with the tower better during the day, who knows maybe it wouldn't, that's all I said.

I couldn't agree more. There's a reason why the spire's cladding was white and why every spire on every building with a similar color is white or reflective silver. It just goes together better.

Yeah, umm...I never said it was whining either. A "cry," in its noun form, is like a plea. I didn't say you were literally crying or whining. I just referred to the fact that I've seen repeated wishes for the spire to be painted white, and personally I don't think it would make a huge difference - in fact I think it would probably look worse. Even the north tower's antenna wasn't all completely white.

I personally would like it more if it were painted white or silver. It wouldnt look so industrial to me...and thats MY OPINION...and I have a RIGHT to have it. So there. I'm not interferring with or knocking YOUR preference...just stating mine.

I thought Durst said the 1 WTC spire was gonna play off the color-changing light shows over at Conde Nast and Bank of America as they are all of his properties. Or did he scrap that plan too?

It will mostly stay white, like the base of the tower. The mast will change different colors on special occasions;4th of July, Christmas.

Is that light color change? Or just a testing. I'm curious.

I found this article (although it's from 2010) which says the 1 WTC mast will join the nightly color-changing light shows but I have found nothing that supports your claim of ocassion-only but maybe you have more inside information than I do.

Some people want to see the building in the daytime.

The building still isn't completed, though it wouldn't surprise me if they did something for the fourth.
