The people I saw were young and wearing hoodies. They were also white. So....

Man I hope this thing actually gets built, not that it'll make a huge skyline impact but Chi town needs the development at the moment. Also this building is beautiful

Shouldn't this project have been in the proposals section all along? Apparently no highrise construction even now! Get a move on or put the Tower back in the proposals section.

I always try to adhere to these rules. You should too.

At any rate, has anyone determined the purpose of that huge mat? It's got nothing to do with the core, and there doesn't seem to be anything rising above it besides a pair of columns..

^ thanks rule marm. it's productive to express dissatisfaction with the assumption that this project is under construction when it really isn't. I prefer to live in reality and you should too.

^Interesting. In this render, I see columns going down through the lobby, but perhaps that defining arch is structural and will be transferring an immense load down to the NE and SE corners of the building. I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Luckily, it shouldn't be long.

this project has foundations in place and all indications are that work will resume shortly. it will stay in the construction forum for now.

if the construction hiatus continues past this summer, then we can talk about moving it back to the proposal section.

Wonder if 150 Riverside will beat this one, I kinda like 150 as much or better than this tower.

BTW, is there any proposal to open the riverfront walkway before the tower goes up?

Seems like there is still a lot of work to be done on the riverwalk portion. The ground, planters for the trees, the trees themselves, the greenwall. I don't see why they couldn't open up this portion during tower construction, it's not like it's a viable staging area.

What I posted was "Get a move on or ...". Nothing wrong with giving some time to get one's act together. But, get a move on, please!

harry, last Spring I was told the big block of rebar was to protect what's underneath it more than to provide support or a caisson for the Tower. Probably should have showed the same concern up by the Fulton Street Drain.
