And here's a great photo I think Alan should have posted, so creds to him.
You need to add a link to the Flickr photostream, the photo was taken by allan1493

The stainless steel slatwalls and glass fins will get anchored to the base girts through the clip angles (the white squares you see on the girts). Down in the concrete walls, everything will get hunged from the halfen channels.

Anyways, back to the construction

I've been noticing that glass installation has slowed down recently. Anyone with an explaination to why this is?

Also check out my latest WTC animations on my Youtube channel (www.youtube.com/combatarmselite)

Anyone know if they ever walled off the Winter Garden's view of the new WTC site? That always struck me as boneheaded an idea as the current spire BS.

Glass can't really go up much if the steel is going up much, but new steel arrived so I am certain that glass work will start again around this week or later.

Ive seen some people mention that it had to do with the core. That the glass has to wait for the core to catch up cause it catches the wind or something , and also the glass has to slow down for the steel's slowness.

I said creds to Alan so it's not like I'm stealing his work or anything .

First of all, where in the world do you think you're living? This is the USA, they build for practicality not for show. Yo're telling me you think a 850+m building is going to go up in Chicago or NYC?

HAHAHAHAHAHA, that made my day.
what is your problem. You don't know the future or possibilities. I doubt you live in either of those cities do you don't know what they're capable of.

If you are standing in this building at 1,200 ft, could you say that you are technically "high in the sky?"

In america yea. This is only 1 of 5 buildings ever in American history to surpass a roof height more than 1,200 feet.

*Shrugs* I wouldn't put it past New York developers, since 1930/1931 (40 Wall, 70 Pine, Chrysler, ESB) is probably the greatest instance of "my building is bigger than yours" in history. Now if you guys can direct some of that bravado towards getting easy transit access between the airports and Manhattan, then I would be impressed.

Why do the beams at the 92nd floor look like they have a different color?

This steel is now at a mechanical room plenum and exposed to atmosphere as air intakes and exhausts, so it gets a different type of fire proofing, cementitious. This steel has been painted with a special epoxy that prevents corrosion but also allows for the fireproofing to adhere to it, and pass the pull tests.
