Montagu, the nuts & berries place in St. Vital Centre, has failed to attract sufficient interest and after a couple of years (?) is going to close soon, according to a sign posted that I spotted this afternoon.

We all knew this was going to happen.

^ It's amazing that it lasted this long, using that kind of prime retail space to sell nuts and dried fruit. One would almost think it was some kind of a plan hatched by an accountant to generate losses for tax purposes...

Hallmark in Wpg Square is closing in Feb. That will leave a big hole in the mall, unless someone knows of plans for the space?

It always seemed busy-ish in there. Big store though...have to sell a lot of pieces of wood with pithy statements painted on them to pay for it all.

Gen X and Millennials just don't send cards, except maybe for the Bride & Groom on their wedding day, a card for a baby shower.

I get Christmas Cards from my Depression Era aunt and my Dad's brothers. Baby Boomer and Gen X cousins? Nada.

I blame technology.

yeah, I never know what to do with them when I get them and some are like $8.

Hallmark is closing its corporate stores and moving to an independent ownership model.

And thank gawd for that.

Say thanks at the wedding and be done with it.

I have no issue with that particular tradition going the way of the dodo.

Gen X’ers and Millennials don’t know how to say thank you, it’s all gimme, gimme and me, me!

Recent cousins kids wedding the goof and his bride spent all the reception with their friends with next to no time for family members, wasted $400 for presentation and won’t make the same mistake again!

See, we Millennials don't need no cards.

We just send "eCards" and memes. That's our greeting cards!

Have you been to a lot of weddings where the bride and groom spend the majority of the reception with their parents' cousins?

I was recently married. Millennial (I guess). Thank you cards have yet to hit the mail, but we're doing them. My wedding cost over $40k. forty thousand dollars. ffs. This is why people don't send thank you cards. 40,000 dollars.

Simply can't understand why they wouldn't want to spend time with you. Absolute mystery.

Walmart mcphillips no longer open 24 hours. Closing at 11. They are also under going some Reno’s (construction trailers in the parking lot) so I assume it may be temporary until the Reno’s are done.
