It's packed by 7pm most nights despite being a large restaurant by sushi joint standards.

The Awesome Roll is highly recommended (bad photo - presented much nicer in restaurant).

Will give thumbs up to Bella Sushi too, although they are pricey and small.
While I'll recommend Sushi Town as a good-value sushi joint, it's definitely not Japanese. Korean-owned, Korean chefs, Korean waitstaff, mainly Korean customers.

They have two other locations (one in North Burnaby and one in Coquitlam).

Just reading through this old thread, and noticed that no one mentioned my favorite Sushiya. SUSHIYAMA! right across from Kinsgate Mall on Broadway, Sushiyama is to me, the best cheap and cheerful Sushiya. I work at Miku, and of course love our food, but when I want good quality for incredible value... Sushiyama kills it. I'll also add that SeaMonstr is one of my other favs.

And just the clarify, I don't think Miku is a rip-off for what we do. It isn't hard to get a good value at Miku... but I would never call it cheap.

tried miku for the first time, and I would have to agree. very unique dishes and an abscence of plain-but-cheap makis. Sushi i tried there is very inventive and intricate.

For budget choices there, sharing the calamari and seaweed salad goes a long way, IMO...
