Cirques, Tarns and Horns: Glacier National Park in September

Went up to Glacier last week with my girlfriend and her brother (both are from NYC) to show them some mountains. Now I'm showin' you.

Great photos and a beautiful day there. As someone who's been there a few times I can say you were lucky to get such clear weather.

Thanks guys! Kanhawk: Yeah, we were very lucky--it was neither rainy nor snowy (which is a definite possibility at this time of year.) Glacier, especially the west side of the park, is really much more like the Pac NW than the rest of Montana-- wetter, and with a lot of mossy, ferny forest. So we were grateful for the clear weather!

@Kevin- you should go, and sooner rather than later-- there won't be any glaciers left in the park in 25 years. I was talking to a ranger, and he told me this is the first year they've gotten the go-ahead from the park service to actually use the term "global warming." Last year they could say "global climate change," and the year before that it didn't exist. So times are changing, even in the NPS.
