I don't see what all the fuss is about regarding the building being un-attractive. I think it's the best that ever came out of Trump, and the location does nothing but do justice to the architecture. Honestly, I think some of you Chicagoans are getting spoiled.

You can make out the shadow of Mather Tower on Trump's skin.

Kind of. I'm not really digging the Ballroom. I think its monotone and bland and the way the column is treated poorly. I also think the chandilers in the ballroom and resturant clash with the decor.

From what I could tell when I was there last time, the lobby looked pretty decent, but it was nothing spectacular imo. I did however, like the shot of cbotnyse took of him jsut outside the elevator. That looked classy to me. But, I have yet to go inside the building to make an actual judgement. A lot of environment can't be captured in photos.

I'm just bothered when people throw around the word icon to describe what I see as mediocrity. I think a lot of Trump is mediocre.

I've worked in most of the nicer ballrooms in the city, and I really have to agree that this one is quite bland and boring, although it will still get booked like crazy because it is in the Trump Tower

yes the only reason why it is so fancy in some capacity is the name attatched to it and the views it offers.

Have you been in this ballroom? my picture is poor quality and does not do it justice. I recommend going there yourself before you make this judgment.

I dont think the Trump name has anything to do with it. It is location, views and quality amenities that will get this booked. Not many ballrooms in the city will offer views like this does.

Nice end to the Wabash St. canyon.

Still hidden by Marina Towers when viewed from Wacker Drive & LaSalle St.

^ its my understanding Trump had every legal right to do that, but its a pretty huge dick move. I wonder why lawyers wouldn't comb through the original contracts to assure their clients this would not happen.

^ Well, good for Radler. For Trump just to cancel these F&F discounts, after using the presales to secure his financing and sales, is very small of him - very small, smelly and oily; also, a poor precedent for Trump, as a New York developer, to establish as part of his first project in Chicago.

But one must stand up to these bully types.

Perhaps, but Radler has the hometown advantage.
