Washington coast photo tour

These photos start in the south and head north along the Washington coast

Looking north across the Astoria bridge over the Columbia River in Washington

Ft Columbia State Park overlooking the mouth of the Columbia River

Dense coastal forest at Cape Disappointment

Long Beach, Washington



Inland saltwater bays along the southern coast



Downtown Raymond

Grayland

Aberdeen


Foggy coastal forest along the Olympic Coast

Ruby Beach, Olympic Coast

These last 2 are over lower quality due to being taken with my cellphone camera.

wicked. i'm hoping to get down to the washington/oregon coast in spring. ruby beach looks incredible, i hope to find places like that!

Beautiful shots. No need to apologize for the cell phone pics; they're better than some I've seen that were taken with $500+ cameras.

I thought Joaquina in Sta. Catarina, Brazil, was the largest beach on Earth...

Love the Ruby Beach capture. And some of the names like Cape Dissapointment sound like names from here.

Claudia, if the sign says it, it must be true, yes? I am a bit suspicious of that claim of that sign myself.

Navyweaxguy, that is a great trip I have taken many times myself.
A travel tip:
When you get to Fortuna, do not miss the opportunity to visit the Victorian town of Ferndale just 10 miles west of Fortuna and also from Ferndale try to take highway 211 out to Cape Mendicino. You will drive a narrow , winding(and sometimes one lane road) over grassy green hills rising hundreds of feet above the ocean and get great views of the coast. It's a little known road but the scenery is great.

drove the 101 a little bit once - from lincoln city or - to aberdeen onto seattle and home

haha, there's probably a hundred beaches that claim to be the longest on earth
