Apparently Katz has been fighting a sinus infection (drug resistant bacteria) for the last few years and is actually quite sick!

I seem to recall Chuckie being highly respected as well.

Well that is too bad.. he is a nice guy when you get to talk to him. I managed a builidng in which he was a tenant and he always liked showing us his cars.. still remember the day he smacked the door of the gullwing Benz on the ceiling of the parkade.. at first he was a little shocked but got over it with a chuckle. Decent guy. I hope he recovers

Still.. fire Bob

Yeah, from ten years ago. I highly doubt Holland can build a winning team in the 2020s. Past his prime as a GM incapable of building a young, fast roster under the confines of the salary cap.

The Oilers are a few competent pieces and decent goaltending away from doing what the Avs are doing this year. Riding a superstar and a single line into the playoffs. And who knows where it will take you.

The Oilers just need half way decent management and coaching to make this happen.

McDavid will be there for the foreseeable future to smooth out the rough edges.

Really is a coin toss, but I have a gut feeling it'll be Dallas. The series so far feels like the reverse of their series in 2016, when St Louis went into Dallas and took game 7.

Hmmmmm, not sure about that. He tried to extend the Red Wings glory years beyond 2009 with very limited success, but I believe he was ordered to by the owner. Of Course, it's possible he could be under the same orders from OIlers upper management and owner to make moves that result in the team becoming immediately competitive.

I like to think he learned his lessons, and will spend the next couple years building the team's depth up at the wing, bottom-2 lines and obviously D. In a way, he doesn't have a choice as he is saddled with a few contracts that will be impossible to move like Lucic and Russell. There really is no cap space to do anything else.

I wonder how many Oilers get buy outs this summer, surely either Lucic or Russell will...

Way to go St. Louis. Hard to see either team lose that game.

Lucic's contract is essentially buyout proof, it wouldn't help the Oilers clear up any salary
Likeliest to happen would be swapping bad contracts with another team and hoping the player can give you more than Milan has
Speculation lately is Lucic for Loui Eriksson could work, but who knows how likely that would be

There was an article I saw about the future of the Oilers and how the buy outs would work for a few of the guys. Lucic would still be on the books for $3.5M IIRC, not a good deal, but better than $6M for that plug. The Oilers only have bad options right now, it's just about what is the least bad option lol. I wish I remember what the article was, it was quite interesting...

Check out this sports bar in St. Louis. We have nothing remotely close to this in Vancouver. Is The bar at Rogers centre as big as this? Don’t think so.

The mezzanine level looks the same but not the large open area down below.

I would speculate that Seattle might fleece some teams with bad contracts floating around.

A deal like this is going to be Seattle's only option to collect assets. GMs aren't going to be as willing to give up picks and prospects to protect players this time, not after Vegas made out so well.

I would be ashamed if I was on the Sharks team...

After being gift-wrapped the series vs Vegas, they win Game 3 in OT on a BLATANT hand pass, refs were quick to leave the ice as people were throwing water bottles. BS like this is why the NHL will never be able to compete with the NBA and NFL. When you have clown as referees...

I almost wish Boston would beat those suckers.
