The UGLIEST building in the world

Please, one nomination only, and one photograph only, per post.

For Canada, I nominate La Residence Soleil (Retirement complex), in beautiful downtown Laval, Quebec. I believe that this is not only the ugliest building in Canada, but perhaps, in the known universe. Look at it.

In Houston is Probably the new Memorial City Hospital. Its really ugly and the space they built this on is much smaller than what it looks like in the picture.

Its only saving grace is that it has cool LED's on it and other buildings in the area have adopted them as well. Looks cool at night.

That looks like something a 6 year old would build with a bunch of legos.

This is pretty ugly. It's San Diego's tallest building, (it just lies on its side) covers across a couple city blocks, with the Trolley cutting through it on C St.

I think its going to be demolished soon.

In Troy Michigan it has to be the Delphi World Headquarters. I see it every day and every day it makes me think of a postmodern Noah's Ark. It looks even worse somehow from the opposite (highway) side without the main entrance.

We've entered a post-modern age for quite a while already anyway. Since the 80s, I guess. Post-war brutalism and minimalism are having a hard time. My taste is diverse, I can appreciate things of various styles so long as it seems to be some fair quality to me. But as I'm used to saying now, French post-modernism is causing a little harm to the art of design over Paris in my opinion. Here's an example of what I really don't like seeing too much over here, in Issy-les-Moulineaux.

Bad bad taste. Kind of stuff that tried to mimic the local traditional fabric, but in cheaper materials. I give it zero chance to age well. It's a waste of room to me, amongst the worst things developed at the moment.

^While I'm not a fan of imitating older styles, I don't find that building terribly ugly.

There's this one.... It's my opinion that it's the ugliest, stupidest looking builing on the planet.

It's only a matter of innovative and conquering spirit here, and that is the most essential thing. That's why I hate that crap to my place. We deserve much better, huh.

I agree, it's pretty terrible. I don't know about ugliest on the planet but it's for sure the ugliest tackiest supertall on the planet. Even worse than that supertall in North Korea.

It's certainly hard to understand what design principles were in play.

The "lets make a lot of money off people with bad taste" principle. I crops up a lot in the suburbs.
