Someone needs to rub some dirt on those new pieces, otherwise looks great. I’m assuming once this is complete Liuna will move to build the Lister Annex and towers on King William and John.

I have no problem with the new pieces remaining lighter and aging at their own pace. It tells a story. It shouldn't be untold. It should be appreciated.

That looks gorgeous. I love all the glass at street level too, it may contrast the original building but doesn't compete with it IMO.

Turned out amazing. I'll have to stop in downtown to see it next time I'm in the city.

I'm hoping there will also be some up or down lighting at the top of the tower....our skyline is so drab...some lighting would do a world of good like we see at City Hall and on the Hilton on Bay St.

x2. Love the first and fourth photos especially.

Those "poles" must be lights?

Thanks for the pics! Such a great project. So happy about it. I really hope they up-light the exterior boldly, not like the Hilton's, which is far too weak.

Not sure what I think of the black, It screams for something to be put on it - So I hope they do... I like the black strip along the top though.. looks sharp!

Those 3 pediments on the right on the bottom though still look dirty..

Also are those decorative pillars on the far left and right? It kinda looks like it.. I hope it is..

As for the side entrance.. that's a lot of.. concrete.. I kinda hoped for more landscaping but I will reserve judgement until it is gone. The black paneling is nice though, at least it is consistent with other projects along there.

The pole lighting is kinda neat too.

Some interesting history - William Thomas also designed the Toronto branch office of the Commercial Bank of the Midland District, which was demolished but the facade was preserved inside of BCE Place:

I would love to see more old architecture like that preserved inside a modern atrium like they have, but not just the facade kept, but an actual interior kept as well. It solves the problem of wear and tear on the building face and gives a great indoor mall quality to shop in

Does anyone else feel that the change in exterior two floors from the top makes the building look incomplete? I don't want to take away from the otherwise-stellar building we have here but the completely pale-blue exterior around the top of the building doesn't add anything in my opinion
