This building has turned out pretty well. The size and height is similar to what some people posted on here presuming on what its final size and height would be (in drawings, etc.). Have to say that I love the glass on it.

The glass is my favourite part as well! If you look back at earlier pictures, you will see that the glass seems to change with different lighting conditions. Sometimes the glass looks bright or dark blue, and others it looks grey, but that's what I love about it!

It's not completely finished yet though. There will be some curtaining installed on the garage portion as well which will hopefully make that bottom portion look better. IMO, the garage looks pretty bad as of now. But that should change

The only thing that would make this building better would be more height, but for the first office building built in St. John's for over 25 years, It's pretty good! You can't have everything I guess

I think what it lacks in height it makes up for in general size. I wouldn't want a building with that much space to be four or five storeys higher...it would look strange. However, if you tightened it and added three or four? By all means!

I'm also starting to think that its not going to look so stumpy when they finish the garage portion. In my opinion it looks stumpy because its very, very obvious that essentially half of its height is a parking garage. Once they fill in the space between floors of the garage (see render to see what I'm referring to... not sure what term to use to describe it... paneling?), and add the restaurant on the side, and store front on the bottom, I think its going to look A LOT better.

I agree that the glass in 351 is phenomenal. I drive along it several times a day and I keep discovering new angles and interesting views. Driving east along Water Street West the other evening at 6:00pm, just about dark, and 351's glass reflected the last light in the western sky beautifully. The whole building seemed to glow an ethereal blue against the dark backdrop - so amazing that I just had to pull over and admire for a minute.

I hate to be a buzz kill here, but just imagine how much more amazing it would be if 351 were 4 or 5 stories higher...

Sure, more of a good thing would be better.

^ Nice photos Signal.

The penthouse on 351 seems quite a bit smaller and lower in height than on most office buildings of that size. I presume that is because the mechanical systems they are using don't require as much space, and some of it may be located elsewhere in the building.

They are using tide water under the building for some of the heating and cooling, according to details in the press.

Which is probably why they don't require as much space at the top.

Wow. Every time I look at the glass on 351 my brain feels like it should be having a seizure, like it's popping acid and blasting Skrillex. I love it

The Crane is coming down March 11 to 15th. Eastport Properties requested a road closure for Harbour Drive.
