My second guess would be Austin, again checks all the boxes, Amazon owns Whole Food now (Austin based), Bezos owns BLue Origin which has a heavy presence in west texas, Bezos is from texas originally and owns a ranch there.
This is such an exhausting conversation.

Austin literally checks none of the boxes, other than it's Austin.

#1 issue on RFP is transit connectivity. A good site is described as being at the core of a major metropolitan region with good transit connectivity (presumably trains). How does Austin offer this?

#2 Airport. Austin Bergstrom is up there with what, Cincinnati, in terms of relative airport capacity?

Amazon is one of the biggest companies in the world at this point. Making assumptions about where it will site HQ2 based on it's existing real estate is pointless.

It also owns Audible, which is based in Newark NJ. Does that mean Newark is a leading contender? I doubt it.

Fun fact: according the new Census estimates, Philly had the greatest increase in the difference between population growth between 2016 and 2017 (i.e. the greatest acceleration not the greatest speed, if you will). In absolute growth, Philly was still just 32nd - not great. But on the greatest change in growth list, you see Philly, Allentown, Scranton, and Harrisburg doing relatively well. Certainly a welcome change.

CSL Behring leases 500 N. Gulph in King of Prussia

Quote:
Brandywine Realty Trust has leased 500 N. Gulph Road in King of Prussia to CSL Behring.

The biopharmaceutical company leased the 100,820-square-foot building because it needed room for expansion. CSL Behring is an existing tenant of Brandywine and occupies 257,000 square feet of space at 1020 First Ave., which is about a mile away from the Gulph Road building.

Atlantic City headlines:

Ocean Resort Casino aiming for June 28 opening, same day as Hard Rock

Quote:
ATLANTIC CITY — Ocean Resort Casino is aiming for a June 28 grand opening, the same date as Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, according to several new hires and signed employment agreements.

Officials with the resort would neither confirm nor deny the report Wednesday.

“The Ocean Resort Casino Team is committed to opening this summer and looks forward to announcing its highly anticipated opening date soon,” CEO Frank Leone said in an email to The Press of Atlantic City.

Colorado-based developer Bruce Deifek purchased the former Revel Casino-Hotel for $200 million in January. Deifek could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

Signed employment agreements for incoming Ocean Resort employees indicate a work start date of June 11 and an anticipated opening date of June 28. Multiple new hires have contacted The Press with the same two dates.

$85 million A.C. North Beach housing project ready

Quote:
ATLANTIC CITY — The first market-rate housing development in nearly five decades will be completed this summer when the $85 million, 250-luxury unit complex 600 North Beach opens in the South Inlet.

“Atlantic City has never seen anything like this,” Councilman William “Speedy” Marsh said during a tour of the project Wednesday afternoon.

That is exactly the sentiment the project’s lead developer, Wasseem Boraie, vice president of Boraie Development LLC, said he expects when people get their first look. Boraie said part of the reason the company chose to develop in Atlantic City was because the resort, and its noticeable revival, was deserving of a new housing option. The South Inlet, an underdeveloped section of the city, was an ideal location, he said.

The project was originally known as The Beach at South Inlet. But the new name, 600 North Beach, conveys a message of luxury and elegance better suited for what the finished project will be, Boraie explained.

Holy cow were my inlaws whining about that this weekend. It ruins the skyline! You have to walk a block to park near there! Also pissed about the new Villanova dorms.

Ugh, this main line attitude is so annoying. Lancaster Avenue should have development like this stretching out to Coatesville (I don't mean continuously, but in the immediate vicinity of each regional rail station at least).

Are you personally pissed about it, or are you quoting your in Laws?
The building is a great development for Ardmore and only stands to do good.

You think it's bad now, just wait until the new apartments and the Target start construction at Lancaster and Ardmore Avenues.

Quoting the in-laws. I think they're both fine. The 13 acre parking lot at Nova was horrendous.

This was the state of things a few months ago. I haven't come across better, more recent photos.

The attitude is changing.

Now that urbanism is cool again I think most towns are embracing infill.

Wayne already has. Berwyn seems to be jumping on the bandwagon with the new Urban/Waterloo Gardens development. Ardmore, etc.

It's refreshing to see a plan around urbanization as far out as the Whitelands. If it's successful (which it will be), it will cause neighboring townships to act.

It is fitting that these projects will be coming to fruition as Villanova is dominating college basketball. I imagine it has had a huge impact for its national profile and alumni donations. I recall after the 2016 championship Villanova saw a big boost in applications in 2017. I imagine they'll get a similar boost in 2019. It's a great time for Villanova, and a big asset for the Main Line.

"But they're too big and too close to the road. Do we want this to be like St. Joe's?"

Not to rain on the parade, but this is an advertorial article list that JPMorgan Chase put together to highlight where THEIR presence is. While not an inaccurate list, it should probably be taken with a grain of salt.
