Just drove past this site at night and was wondering if anything was going on. There is a pretty large residential project going up just north of here on 2nd north of arch. I believe it was about 5 stories. The pile drivers for one Water street were on site as well. Its good to see these projects going up around the base of the bridge.

I assume this means construction is imminent? I really don't know. Fingers crossed!

Nothing at all happening here. Lot hasn't even been cleared of debris.

Hey, the W is happening. So... I'll be hopeful.., One Water Street is proceeding quickly. Why not this next?
And 1487 - where's the positive energy?! Very skeptical...always. It's ok, comrade - these are good times for Philly. Beer?

So I posted a few months back when I observed the unloading of Jersey Walls on sight I was hoping that this thing was getting started. They are still just sitting in the lot. I pass the sight almost every day. I can report that as of last Monday, the lot has been cleared of cars. There also appears to be new permits up on both the 2nd Street and Race Street sides, however, too small to read driving by. Hopefully some more solid updates in the next couple weeks.

This the type of project we need.If all the projects were as innovative as this, there would be less complaints about the height (i.e. 1919 Market)

While I'm not much of a fan of deconstructivism in general and downright detest it on highrises, I actually kind of liking this new look.

As a facade treatment it's more of a digital deconstruction, an 8-bit transition from boring glass box to boring rectilinear gridwork which is far more interesting then either of its constituent parts.

It's a nice compromise between the nice v.1 facade and the shitty v.2, hopefully meeting their needs for frugality and our needs for a more interesting streetscape.
