I would have been more concerned if they were going to demolish THESE.

the low rises, I don't know if I ever even noticed they were there.. and that whole area is a high rise rental area anyways so it should fit in.

That rumour circulated in 2016, iirc.

I'd be shocked if it closed.

From whom?

I haven't heard anything of the sort. The store itself just had a major round of hiring PT workers and the franchise is poised to open it's 4th major store in Sauga soon. All indicators are that it's thriving.

I've heard that rumor before and it makes no sense. That store is literally packed every day right up until closing. It's an incredibly well performing store and attracts massive amounts of foot traffic to the mall.

Alright, I didn't think it made sense either. I'm glad to hear it.

That's on Arkledun Ave, just East of John St. South. I don't think they've started building it yet, only cleared the site.

It's Buffalo news but it's about Hamilton developer Harry Stinson.

The building at the NW corner of Wilson and James has apparently sold to somebody well known.

no because the side of that building was originally sheared off when they paved york through that area in the 70s.

There should be a new hotel with the shovel in the ground before the end of the year in Hamilton. It is being built by a Toronto developer who wants to get into the Hamilton market and with a hotel chain that is not in Hamilton, but wants a presents in Hamilton. They want the shovel in the ground by the end of the year and be operational by the end of 2018.

I am not allowed to say who they are as they are going through the last hoops for the land. I have seen the site plan and proposed look of the building. The chain is a higher end chain. It will not be a large hotel, only 134 rooms and be only 5 stories. It will be built in the lower city west of Wellington.
When I am allowed to give any more info I will.

I know you can't say, but what you're describing sounds like an ALT Hotel.
