Royal Living Development Group is applying for rezoning to build a 12-storey, 154 unit apartment building at 1020 Upper James Street a block north of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.

The proposal is in the early stages of the City planning approvals process, with staff divisions presently reviewing the application.

Wellings Planning Consultants is the planner on the project. DPAI Architecture Inc is the architecture.

Cresmount Funeral Home is presently on the site. The proposal is to demolish the funeral home building, and create an urban form building with setbacks at the rear.

Per some guy on reddit who attended a public consultation meeting today: Medallion Corp is proposing to demolish the 5 existing low rise rental buildings on the property bounded by McNab, Bold, Duke, and Park. The proposal is to build two towers with rental apartments, 27 and 29 stories.

I would have been more concerned if they were going to demolish THESE.

the low rises, I don't know if I ever even noticed they were there.. and that whole area is a high rise rental area anyways so it should fit in.

That rumour circulated in 2016, iirc.

I'd be shocked if it closed.

From whom?

I haven't heard anything of the sort. The store itself just had a major round of hiring PT workers and the franchise is poised to open it's 4th major store in Sauga soon. All indicators are that it's thriving.

I've heard that rumor before and it makes no sense. That store is literally packed every day right up until closing. It's an incredibly well performing store and attracts massive amounts of foot traffic to the mall.

That's on Arkledun Ave, just East of John St. South. I don't think they've started building it yet, only cleared the site.

It's Buffalo news but it's about Hamilton developer Harry Stinson.

The building at the NW corner of Wilson and James has apparently sold to somebody well known.

no because the side of that building was originally sheared off when they paved york through that area in the 70s.
