I am a bit concerned about the CFL in general. There is increasing talk about the inevitability of an NFL franchise in toronto. If/when that happens the CFL is going to take a kick in the pants and be seen as even more of a b-league. It is somewhat insulated now by the national factor (our game - their game). When toronto gets an NFL team I fear the current good attendance and support will slip back to where the CFL was 15 yrs ago when you couldn't give tickets away.

Now if Saskatoon was to put its energy into a NHL franchise that would draw from the entire province instead of slicing the football market in two....I live in Regina but I would be a huge Saskatoon NHL hockey fan. But I don't know if the NHL has given up on the southern US just yet.

Well, Toronto is not going to be getting an NFL franchise anytime soon, I reckon.

Perhaps if it was 2008 then yes. Pretty sure that has kind of died.

Notice the Brad Wall poster in the background when he's talking about his roadtrip?

I don't think I can even pick out my favourite part because it's all so true! Except the service thing...I usually have service so as a running joke it didn't ring very true to me, but maybe he has Rogers.

Grrr...why can't I embed???

A coworker said that Pittsburgh lost against Toronto the other day and I was like "How can they lose against a team that hasn't existed for decades?"

Everyone shits on Toronto. I must say, support for the Jets isn't as big here as I was hoping it would be, though they have replaced the Wild as the hockey team that radio stations give tickets to as prizes.

Man arrested for allegedly carrying shotgun in Portage Place
By: Staff Writer
Posted: 02/4/2012 12:21 PM

Police may have prevented a much more serious crime with the arrest of a man allegedly carrying a concealed sawed-off shotgun and ammunition in broad daylight in Portage Place.
Foot patrol police noticed a man acting suspiciously at about 1 p.m. Friday, said police spokeswoman Const. Natalie Aitken.
"We are trained to observe if a person is walking in a certain manner," that might indicate something such as a concealed weapon, she said.
When police approached, the 23-year-old man became very confrontational and argumentative. Alert officers acted on their suspicion and seized the firearm.
The man, Justin Michael Henderson of Winnipeg, was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
He faces charges numerous firearm related charges and has been detained in custody.

Well I still think downtown is safe during the day. One incident doesn't mean it is going to happen all the time.

Found this in the Freep comments section;

What is the personal tax exemption under the NDP for 2011?

For a family of five in Manitoba it's $16,768

For a family of five in Saskatchewan it's $47,066

Federally it's $27,447

Personal tax exemptions for children:

Saskatchewan it's $5,514 per child

Federally it's $2,131 per child

Manitoba it's $0 per child

Keep voting NDP!
