came across this pic of the garage with panels, I think from 2007

stragglers from this weekend...

Third St looking north from Dogpatch

glimpsed in the previous pic and seen better here from the Illinois side, the Vision Neurosciences building is quickly getting its whitish skin.

(oh, and those trees on the left side of the pic are about to be removed, according to an email I got recently.)

Third St side again

Three Corners

and the other Neurosciences building, with Uber and ... more Uber in the background on the left

the affordable one on Third across from Mission Rock

The sidewalk is still sinking in SF's Mission Bay. It could liquefy during an earthquake.
By Annie Vainshtein Published 1:24 pm PST, Thursday, January 31, 2019

It's a known problem that the sidewalk around a particular part of Mission Bay is sinking. But the gaps are getting worse.

Dramatic new photos of the sidewalk on 4th street, south of Mission Creek, show a problem that is continuing to deepen around the area, sparking concerns around earthquake safety and daily danger for pedestrians.

One of the reasons for the widening gap is that Mission Bay wasn't built on solid bedrock — it was constructed on artificial landfill. The new development was built atop land once known as Mission Swamp. In an earthquake, this soil can turn to liquid. It's also the exact kind of soil that intensifies ground shaking the most, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

before these get too out-of-date (all from last weekend)...

looking south across the Creek at the Uber/Chase Center construction in the distance

looking north down Third from 20th

looking north down Third from 19th

UCSF's psychiatry center site at Third and 18th

looking back across the psych center site at 2177 Third

the big white cube of the Vision Neurosciences building will be a prominent new feature in the neighborhood from many angles

continuing the march north on Third

Illinois St, looking north from Mariposa. crane was coming down on the vision neurosciences building

I think work on the T-Third Loop has resumed, but it's hard to tell. this is also looking north on Illinois, from about 19th. (on the right will someday be Crane Cove Park, supposedly)

Three Corners. work has resumed on the T-Third platform reconstruction

more of that...

There's no doubt there's a problem with the sidewalks and the settling is intense in places, but inferring that it's due to the fact that ~50ft structures were not anchored to bedrock is absurd.

Most people seem to have their math backward on this issue; sidewalk sinks but not the building itself—so it must be the building.

Looks like the warriors plan to build a 160 ft hotel/condo tower adjacent to the Chase Center.

I'm scratching my head, wondering where exactly this would be built.

There was supposed to be a low-rise market/food hall on that corner kind of wrapping around the arena. This would take the place of it.

looking at camera #2 at https://app.oxblue.com/open/clarkcon...on/chasecenter isn't this "market/food hall" under construction?

What confuses me is that this "northeast" site is already almost finished.

also, wouldn't a 160 ft tower on this site completely obstruct the bay and SF skyline views from the arena sky balcony?

see below:

Had been wondering why that corner had 2 extra elevator cores that are sitting on beefy foundations... especially the one by the tower crane it has the potential for 3 shafts... as well as the beefier concrete columns... not to mention the tower crane foundation for a 200+ feet tall freestanding tower crane.

It seems like this part of Chase Center still has a lot of work to be done. Wonder if they are behind schedule.

So there was a plan all along to build on top of the three storeys that are under construction?
