I saw a LOT of steel on the back of some flatbeds lined up along Randolph this morning. It looked way beefier than the stuff going in that's creating the floor plates. Maybe those are what you're talking about.

Does anyone know what the tridents are built up from? Is it all steel plate welded together to create a custom shape? Are they the 36x925 that were used at 150 N. Riverside? I would love to see the piece drawings on those items.

Even from a pretty long view on the webcam, the steel beams are large

Some Assembly Required

Really hard to pick out just a few shots.

Jan 22

note the yellow things, put on the corners of the beam where the lifting cable goes around.

Eyeballing it.

Persuasion

Put a steak in it

Ice on cold steel - this is obviously the top beam.

Sweet shots, Harry -

I think I'll be out there for a bit tomorrow AM. Maybe around 9:30-10:00am. If you see a guy with a camera and a safety-orange parka, it's probably me.

Welp, I got all bundled up and trudged out to the site only to find it mostly desolate. Oh well, I'll get some lifting action next time. Also, bummed that they made the photo 'window' so narrow on the South end of the site.

Here are a few shots...

Awesome pictures everyone. It's hard to imagine how those connection points are sufficient enough on the trident sections for how large those beams are. It seems like they should be more robust. Especially on the angled pieces.

It looks like they started early this morning and got another piece of the trident up and erecting beams from the trident into the building...can't wait to see more close-up photos.

Iron workers are setting a segment of a sloped trident column.

Went out of my way this morning on the walk to the office. Should be a good show over the next couple of days if the weather holds up!
