Glad to see we picked up where we left off taking 500 penalties a game..

Granted, they picked two of Toronto's best D players up in Parker and Shell (two of the only highlights in the Argo's woeful season last year) but I want to see the team in a few games before I declare them in the same vein as last year's juggernaut. I was rooting for them in the west last year, even when they started rough, and I will again this year.

There has just been so many changes offseason we don't really know what is in store yet. I will reserve my judgement until the first several weeks have passed. Don't forget, by labour day everyone had written the Lions off last year, whereas the Bombers started strong but really slowed down the second half. So much can change for any team in a season. Burris fell from grace after a strong showing. The Riders came off a Grey Cup appearance and were a disaster last year. Esks - who many were discounting - had a fairly strong showing imo last year.

There was a lot of parity last year, and this year there are a lot of new changes and faces that we really don't know what will happen.

That said, I think Simon will break the record tonight.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Sanchez and Robertson, but the former was only a shadow of his former self; he could never recover from that bad elbow injury, which completely limited his tackling ability (a huge problem for a DB), and Harris is as capable as Robertson, plus the benefit of him being a ratio-buster (and probably better as a receiver out of the backfield than Robertson). Johnson was a ratio-buster on the D-line, but that's why Buono moved up in the draft to grab Westerman.

Yay, Esks! Jyles is crap, but I know their defense is going to be great.

And yeah, the Argos would've won if they didn't take so many penalties.

Decent Stamps-Als game. Weather was fairly comfortable, with a bit of a breeze which picked up with rain towards the last few minutes.

Tate, Forzani, Lewis, and Cornish all looked good out there. Calvillo couldn't connect, which was frustrating to watch.

Wish I could have watched, but I was at a Canada Day block party across the street. I kept coming back home for beer/updates though.

Holy crap... one of the worst Als game I've ever seen.

Calvillo couldn't make a pass, Richardson fumbled, Green dropped a few passes... very frustrating to watch.

I think if the bombers beat montreal this week the als should be very concerned with the age of their club.

Corrected that for you... all our impact players outside of Calvillo are in their prime.

Ah....0-2

That was the last play to keep us in the game.

Good try Bombers, HUGE improvement over last week but still weak on the offence.

AC looked good btw.

Well no worries... the old dude still has it.

Calvillo: 31-39, 443 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT

Whitaker: 16 carries, 98 yds, 1 TD
11 catches, 137 yds, 2 TDs
235 total yds

SJ Green: 5 catches, 120 yds

Only Richardson did not play up to its talent, he better wake up.

Hopefully the double blue will realise that in order to win you need to not take 3 penalties per possession, and get the East's second win of the season (yikes).

See how he plays if he had someone in his grill all night. (did not see the game so I cannot comment if the Bombers were unable to get any pressure on Cavillo.)

Woooo! First East win against a West team! Sure hope Prefontaine has some years left in him, definitely saved our asses (and burned it with the one missed kick).

Hope Tate is okay, that looked rough.

Worst defensive game by Bombers in 7 years. Yep. Since 2005 season when they, apparently, had the worst defensive in the history of the CFL lol

Funny enough that game was also against Calvillo.

Riders strong O vs Edmonton's strong D will be interesting to see today....I think Esks D is underrated this year...

Well, that was a defensive coaches dream come true.

Glad the Riders came out on top, but I have to wonder if they are that good on defense or if the esks are that inept on 'O'.

Wow, what a low scoring game. (Though I've actually seen a 10-3 game before)

It reminds me of the time my high school team won 1-0. I shit you not we won by a soccer score on a missed field goal. It was brutal.

The Eskimos shouldn't have traded Ray until they had someone competent to fill his shoes. Jyles is crap and Joseph is worse.

1 point on a punt and less that 200 yards total offense is unforgivable.
