Is the wait here endless or is there a starting point in sight? When can we see some construction here?

I don't know if I'd call it progress, we've seen websites for frozen projects before. It's certainly not bad news though, and it does look very nice. If it is progress though, I'm all for it, this has been planned for years and years.

No surprise here, just an FYI, it looks like the modifications were unanimously approved by the Planning Commission at their April 14 meeting (if I'm reading their minutes right):

Quote:
The proposal would increase the number of dwellings from 227 to 320 and number of parking spaces from 227 to 265, and require a determination of compliance under Planning Code Section 309.1, including exceptions to allow greater than one parking space for every two dwelling units, provide off-site open space in lieu of on-site, and allow dwelling units without Code-required exposure.

(Continued from Regular Meeting of March 17, 2011)

ACTION: Approved with the modification that the affordable unites are tied to the number of project units that are before the Commission today

AYES: Antonini, Borden, Fong, Moore, Sugaya, Miguel and Olague

MOTION: 18316

Apparently the website for this project says "coming soon." This according to Curbed SF.

This one has been "coming soon" for a long time now, but it's not dead.

Checking with SF Planning's permit database, it entered "PLANCHECK" status two weeks ago, the last step before being approved.

So, the developers are still waiting for the construction permits to be issued, but it seems like it's getting close.

From render on first page, ( didnt have time to view remaining pages ) I could only count 39 floors.

Yeah, i counted 39 as well. Also, this says the building is 400 feet, not 450':

http://www.socketsite.com/archives/2..._proposed.html

Though that could be 400' to the roof, and the building might be 450' in total including the crown (though I'm not sure the crown is 50' tall, judging by the renders).

Yep, it is 400' to the roof and 450' to the top of the crown.

^Agreed! I can't quite put my finger on why, but the current design just isn't working for me. I do like the proposal for streetscape improvements on Lansing though. I didn't realize that was part of this project. It will make for a nice respite among the large, busy streets that surround it.

I'm actually OK with this one. It's nothing spectacular but it is a decent filler for Rincon Hill.

Well, it's been about 18 months since Crescent Heights revived this project, and they finally just got their building permit approved and issued today.

Hopefully they have financing and a contractor ready to go soon.

Still no timeline for construction, but Crescent Heights has a rendering I haven't seen before up on their website:

Color scheme looks different. More white, less golden than before. The previous renders were from the other side, but I doubt that's the reason. Hmmm.

Again, nothing special, but its a welcome addition, and Rincon Hill is going to look much better in a couple years.
