that board you are referring to on the SWC of 7/jefferson appears to be high definition. Looks nice, but there are several mounts that I thought were for additional boards, both circular and flat, which have been covered in some sort of banner wrapping. I hope this is just because the boards were backordered or something.

Those LED boards on the SWC are new? I thought there have always been there as part of the stadium signage.

It's a redesign. The old boards were in a triangular pattern with only three LED boards. The new signage is much nicer IMO.

Saw an aerial shot of Chase Field and the APS signage/LEDs on the parking garage and I have to say they looked pretty good from the air, definitely made downtown look a little more happening/interesting.

I agree. I like the static and the LED combo...and the size.

Installation of LED's is now complete on the new Chase Field board on the SWC of 7th and Jefferson. Instead of the All Star banners that wrapped around the sign, circular LED boards now wrap around the whole thing.

I believe there is one board left. Also, the USAC board is being replaced.

sooo ... what exactly is offensive about that dinky billboard? Or is Vandercook just on his period again?

I used to live right there in Artisan, and that adspace would beat the everlovin shit out of the droll of brown concrete that is the GM.

Why dont you go fuck yourself? Seriously, why don't you?

The website said it would be an LED billboard, and if it were anything like the other LED boards, it would keep people up. Fortunately it is surprisingly a static board.

Forty, do not respond. VLJ, settle down. Both of you drop the hostilities.

If it had been LED, I can totally see how it would have been annoying, light wise. It also would have been cool. Now it is just another ad, so it is a non issue. I would have stuck it on the south side and made it a huge LED board.

looks like we have our answer.

i think it looks fine. how in the world do you suppose that an LED would "keep people up"? The fuck? Those units had plantation shutters as a default.

whats next? traffic stops at 10pm sharp? No Dbacks fireworks show? Don't want to "keep people up", whatever that means.

Have you lived near an LED billboard? The side of BofA tower glows like it's radioactive, people who live across from Grand Canyon University live in perpetual daylight.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here and assuming you aren't really that clueless and are just trying to make argument. Really? Plantation shutters? So you'd be ok with having to seal your windows and doors in order to keep out that kind of light?

For the record, I'd be so unbelievably happy if they did away with the dbacks fireworks. I can't even get home during them, they wake me up all the time, and they're totally repetitive. I never had an opinion of baseball until seeing how Phoenix handles the traffic to and from the games. Made me dislike baseball pretty quickly.
