Except maybe one team.

Another entertaining Leaf win tonight. Tomorrow night in Boston should be a great game to watch as well.

Nice win by the Flames last night over the Blues. Good to see them get scoring from their third line. Oh...and the Flames scored more goals in regulation tonight than the Coilers have in the last 5 games.

Around 20% of the season in the books, are the Canadian teams where everyone expected them to be?

Right now, I think that the standings for the Canadian teams are the exact opposite of what the majority of SSP hockey thread posters would have predicted at the beginning of the season.

By the end of the season....who knows?

I expected/hoped for the Leafs, Canadiens, and Sens to be battling it out for the second and third division spots. 2/3 are there now, and Montreal is making up ground quickly.

I wish the Leafs were doing it in a more convincing manner, and could see them slipping to a wildcard spot soon if the team's cohesiveness doesn't improve.

Jankowski looked great on a line with Jagr and Bennett, if they play like that again we may have a new second line!

Interesting that you didn't comment on any of the teams west of those.

Do you feel left out?

Don't worry. I'm sure it's just a conference thing.

He's talking about his division, who cares if he mentioned western teams or not?

I don't stay up late enough to watch west coast games to have an informed opinion. I think Calgary is performing where we thought they could with consistent goaltending. Likewise with Winnipeg where the talent has been there for 4 years but a solid goalie was missing. I think Vancouver is in a great spot to rebuild with young talent and two big contracts coming off the books next year. Edmonton is disappointing so far.

Te Eastern teams are where I expected. Winnipeg is higher than I expected (Figured they would be a wildcard team), Vancouver and Edmonton are opposite to eachother in terms of where I expected, and Calgary is about where they should be at this point in the season.

I think Montreal will just miss on the playoffs, Toronto will fall back a bit and Ottawa will challenge for the division. Calgary should challenge for the division here, Vancouver will start to fall back pretty quick and will finish about 12th in the west. Edmonton will get their shit together at some point and get back into contention, but I think the damage will be done now (I expect the Oilers to play for the cup next year though, unless someone takes out McDavid). Winnipeg is hard to predict, I don't really watch or follow them at all.

No it wasn't. There was no reference to conference play. All the posts leading up to his were about "Canadian Teams". Whatever...

Biggest takeaway from last night's game - Calgary's top 9 is now a legitimate scoring threat.

Oilers picked up Cammalleri for Jokinen, decent trade considering Jokinen is beyond useless so far this season. Cammalleri's best years are behind him, but he's .5ppg so far which I find surprising.
