JAKARTA | Regatta Jakarta | 24 FLOORS x 10 | COM

I searched and searched, and I'm amazed this isn't in the SSP forum already. If I'm posting something duplicate, please forgive me.

The project is the Regatta Jakarta, including 10 residential towers at 24 floors apiece, and 1 hotel whose height I haven't found.

Here's how it's supposed to look upon completion:

(image from their own materials)

And here's how it looks today: http://sf.curbed.com/archives/2008/0...ails_ahead.php
(I don't know who the photographer is, so I'll just give a link)

The arch-like building looks to be 40+ stories. Could be a very interesting building.. too bad all the others have to look the same.

True. I the complex will likely be known for having the "lighthouse" tower, as they call it.

Each residential tower will be named after a port city, and if I'm not mistaken, they'll be situated on the island itself in the direction of that city, from the perspective of the center of the island. I like that.

Not sure if I dig the kitschy sailboat motif, and I am also not sure about skyscrapers with superfluous lateral movement (read: bloated). I guess the one good thing I can say for them is that they are "interesting" which is definitely better than "bland" in this instance.

Wow, that's quite the interesting looking building? Is it it right on the sea?

Completed in 2009. The hotel never came to be.
