^ It's surprising that for all of the growth that Saskatoon has enjoyed over the last 10 or 12 years (and there has been a lot - the CMA has now cracked 300K), it still hasn't translated into any significant skyscraper activity. You would think that there would be at least an apartment/condo building or two by now?
To be clear, there has been a fair bit of construction activity including some projects that are quite enviable on their own, just not anything that pierces the sky.
^ Yes, it's too bad the towers haven' materialized yet. There's no shortage of proposals for the downtown - a handful of new office and condo towers - that just haven't managed to get off the ground.
There's reason for hope though. A prime riverfront site known as Parcel Y that has been waiting for development for a decade now is seeing the first signs of action - a couple weeks ago the entire site was fenced and excavators moved on-site.
There's a 3 tower proposal for the site - hotel, office, condo, arranged around a public plaza.
Another condo tower proposed for downtown, if built, will break the 100 m mark. A first for Sask.
My great aunt always used to go for lunch at the big Anglican cemetery beside Quidi Vidi Lake in St. John's. And she'd always say nothing gave her such comfort as an Anglican cemetery. She was Catholic.

No, actually. It's typically United. That could very well be a United Cemetery. I've no idea what church I was beside except for that it's not Catholic.
Went for a little walk after work. First real photo excursion since I moved north. Finally got my internet service the other day so I figured why not kick off this party...
