Asurion to grow downtown

Nashville-based technology company to add 500 workers downtown. While corporate is still located a little south in the Grassmere area, by the Nashville Zoo, speculations are beginning to rise that the whole company may move downtown in the future. A large parking lot is across the street from the Ragland Building and is also owned by the owners of the building. It definitely makes you wonder.

^^^Dale is referring to Tony Giaratanna's proposed tower at 505 Church Street, where his Signature Tower was proposed. Giaratanna has been looking for a large corporation to relocate to Nashville or in this case possibly relocate downtown to become a major tenant in 505 Church Street. Who knows, maybe something will take shape between this and 505.

The Pillsbury Law Firm was originally really close to closing a deal on the Ragland Building, and obviously that didn't happen. Them and UBS are actively looking downtown, so who know what they'll do.

Typical and they don't have any solid reasoning behind why these various projects won't be built other than the Signature Tower's failure. Tony G will more than like get the SOBRO out of the ground by the end of the year, the demand for apartments downtown is very high, and units are hard to come by right now. Residential is Tony G's area, look at the Cumberland Apartment tower, Encore, Viridian, and now the smaller residential project currently under construction in Midtown. Although he has had partners on all of those projects, they have all been completed. The only true failure by Tony G himself was Signature, which we all know that the funding was there, it was just bad timing with the economy collapsing.

The hotel in SoBro is probably the least likely to be built.

As far as 505, I am still very optimistic that it will be built. If Tony G can find his tenant then it will be built.

Regions Nashville HQ to move? Seems quite possible

Regions Bank is currently in talks to whether stay in the aging Regions Center at 3rd and Union or move out and commence new construction of a high rise. The Eakin development in the Gulch, 505 CST, and of course West End Summit come to the front as the strongest candidates if they move out. However, if they do move out, this will put the Regions Center at over 80% vacany.

^I'm looking forward to what will come of Regions looking for new office space. On the other hand, I'm curious of how the space in the Regions Center would be filled if they do indeed leave.

Maybe one of the companies rumored to be wanting office space here like Lockheed Martin could take the space. Of course some exterior and interior renovations are probably needed for the building. Also, if a new office is proposed, what height would you guys expect it to be?

^^I'll probably be in Nashville Monday or Tuesday. I'll grab a few shots of all of the current projects while I'm there.

More than likely something comparable to the Pinnacle at Symphony Place.

Belmont's largest porject breaks ground

Belmont is cementing itself as a growing higher learning institution now with the groundbreaking of the school's largest project to date.

"Belmont University broke ground today on what will be the growing campus’ largest building to date, a 188,000-square-foot academic center situated on the corner of Wedgewood and 15th avenues.

The building, which does not yet have a name, will house most departments from the College of Arts and Sciences as well as the School of Religion."

The Symphony is going to use the Thermal Plant site for the city’s Fourth of July celebration and public works has already began clearing and leveling the property.

The Tennessee Babtist Convention sold its prominent corner site in Brentwood to Franklin Land Associates LLC, an affiliate of GBT Realty, who is currently planning the redevelopment of the property just south of it. This is huge step forward for the future of the Brentwood Town Center.

Well, at least it's a start for the old thermal site.
