Ice Ice Baby!

You guys must think I live in Sweden or something, never any daylight to take picture. This is how it is in the dead of winter, should get better in another couple of months.

Sweden, lol! ICE with an umlat! Lol!

Really? I am so disappointed by these two towers. They had the potential to be something great, but now are less than density fillers.

I like telus house's base, but otherwise I find the towers quite bland.

I actually love the lobby and curtainwall of 18 York despite the overall stumpy design. Telus House is an all round winner imo. The main problem with this area will be the stupid phase 3 infinity development.

I also feel Ice could use a bigger podium like MLS except somthing with some metallic and (perhaps stone) detailing and classical proportions. We need to bring some pre-war elegance south of the tracks.

Ice kinda reminds me of MLS. Not a lot of talk about it, and then it it just shows up one day.

65 stories and not a square box. Don`t see many of those around town. This is exciting.

I would say there's been a fair bit of talk about these towers, more than MLS. But you're right about what they will be like when finished. It is exciting how this part of Toronto will look in a few years.

It's exciting to think how "exciting" this part of town will be in a few years.

I was never much of a fan of Toronto building so tall on the south side of the Gardner, but in recent years, as the area has exploded, I can't help but think you are driving through one of the world's greatest cities when you approach on the Gardner and travel among the highrises here. It's simply a magnificent urban joy! I know a lot of people are critical of the elevated freeway, but I don't think you'd get the same affect if it wasn't like that.

Same. What New York is building on the old WTC site blows away Toronto's new office neighbourhood. There's just no comparison. They're getting a fantastic jaw dropping office development, and we're getting coma inducing stumps.

For those who are going to rebut that you can't compare the 2 cities, we were a city that used to propose buildings that rivaled anything being built elsewhere. The CN Tower, College Park, John Maryon Tower?

Why can't we build 1 great building instead of 3 or 4 quite forgettable ones?

Actually, it's looking like WTC may be getting a couple of stumps, at least for the next few years. And the only two towers guaranteed are arguably the two least inspiring.
