Calgary Photo Tour (August 2014)

This is a long coming photo thread I wanted to make for the longest time but was too lazy. But I decided to do so now.

Lets start with my trip into town, this was the rockies

Rest of the pictures have no order

Heres a few from downtown

I decided to go to the top of the Calgary tower, heres some photos from atop the tower

The beltline I believe

Looking towards the skydome

Towers of downtown, density was incredible

Looking down from the Calgary Tower

Heart of downtown

I was staying in Forrest lawn and took some photos from that area

The skyline is impressive from a distance

So I decided to take the C Train

I thus proceeded to walk around downtown to get a feel of the place

The C Train in the background, enjoyable ride in and out of town if I do say so myself.

More street views of the CBD

The city's skyscrapers are very tall and dense, I was extremely impressed.

Looking up

Tall one under construction on the left, don't know it's name but it's girthy.

This windmill looks pretty interesting at it's location

The Bow River was a beautiful green colour, made me think of kalamalka lake in the Okanagan but with a deeper green colour.

I decided to walk across the pedestrian bridge, I cannot remember it's name but it's pretty nonetheless

Nexen Headquarters

Living Large

Husky Headquarters

Your skyscrapers have fantastic designs

Native sculpture downtown

Density FTW

Near the train station, getting ready to pack it up and head back to the place I'm staying

Some sunny pictures from the next days journey

The bow in all her glory

Calgary Tower

The bow really is stunning

More train shots by the Calgary Tower

The Gorgeous Green Bow River

Looking south towards the Calgary Tower

More density

I went inside a mall by chinatown

Urban Canyons

Sky's the limit

Sky's indeed the limit

Calgary Cranes

I quite liked this building in the back

Quirky public art

Bow river

Condo's on the shores of the Bow

Growing skyline on the shores of the bow

Skyline from the hill just north of the CBD

The lush bow river valley

Green Bow

Skyline shots from the distance

Residential highrise neighbourhood

Ending skyline shot

Finally my eventual departure

The rockies

Canmore

More rockies

Finally on my way back to Vancouver heading west

I love your city, very pretty and dense. Sorry I didn't get many shots outside the core.

I'll be back in January and hope to explore more.

Your comments on the river remind me that most urban rivers are brown - we are lucky to have the bow.

Thanks for the pics.

Thanks guys, I was really impressed with the city's core and density.

It felt as big as seattle for some reason.

Lots of pictures aren't loading for me, probably about 1/3 of them.

Great tour and thanks for posting!

I don't know why the pictures are no longer working as they were working fine before.

Update: from January 10th to 24th I will be in Calgary again. I intend on taking a lot of photos.
